Good morning, Preble County. After 37 years in education and a decade at the helm, Northmont Schools superintendent Tony Thomas has announced his retirement, marking the end of an era for one of Montgomery County's longest-serving school leaders. His departure, described as "one of the greatest blessings of my life," gives the district time to thoughtfully search for a successor who can continue his legacy of positive community impact.

Tragedy struck nearby Middletown this weekend as three lives were lost in a devastating multi-vehicle collision that closed Ohio 122 for hours while investigators worked the scene. Meanwhile, New Lebanon's revolving door of leadership continues spinning with former village manager Bill Draugelis' sudden exit, complete with a $52,500 separation agreement and confidentiality clause. With Shannon Bemis stepping in as the fifth interim manager in 18 months and multiple lawsuits pending, the village faces challenging waters ahead.
