Good morning, Preble County. Fall has officially arrived in West Alexandria, bringing with it a calendar bursting with community celebrations. The town is gearing up for its Oktoberfest on October 11-12, complete with parades, pageants, and a beer garden, while local organizations from the Fire Department to the American Legion are hosting gatherings that will keep residents connected throughout the season.

Nature enthusiasts won't want to miss "The Amazing 5K Trail Run" at Garber Nature Center on September 13, just one of many outdoor events happening across the county. Meanwhile, Interstate 70 East became an unexpected fruit stand Tuesday night when a semi-truck accident scattered boxes of cantaloupes across the highway. The unusual produce spill left one person with minor injuries and authorities investigating reports of a driver who may have fled the scene faster than a rolling melon.
