Good morning, Preble County. The strumming of guitars and the beat of drums transformed Eaton's VFW Post 8066 into a musical sanctuary last Friday. Eight local bands, including Preble County Line, rocked both indoor and outdoor stages during the "Freedom Jam" fundraiser, where veterans and community members united through music to support those who've served our country. The event showcased not just musical talent, but the powerful connection between community support and veteran services.

Looking ahead, Brookville resident Dan Appenzeller is already orchestrating plans for America's 250th birthday celebration in 2026. His August 7 brainstorming sessions at the Leiber Center aim to create a memorable semiquincentennial that bridges generations. Meanwhile, Preble County's packed community calendar offers numerous opportunities for civic engagement, with township trustees, village councils, and community organizations maintaining regular meeting schedules that welcome public participation across the county.
