Good morning, Preble County. Disney's Moana 2 made quite the splash at Eaton's Main Street Aquatic Center last week, where 600 community members transformed a typical pool day into a waterside cinema experience. Complete with waterslides, foam cannons, and free popcorn, the Dive-In Movie Night exemplifies how our local parks department continues creating those summer memories that stick with us long after the season fades.
The economic landscape continues to evolve around us, with a Washington-based investor making their Ohio debut through a $14.5 million Miamisburg industrial site purchase. Meanwhile, academic excellence shines at Miami University, which has secured a spot among the nation's top 35 public universities for value. The Princeton Review recognition highlights what many local families already know—Miami delivers impressive educational and career outcomes without the price tag of many private institutions.

🏊♀️ Splash and screen: 600 people dive into movie magic. Eaton Parks & Recreation's Dive-In Movie Night on June 27 transformed Main Street Aquatic Center into an aquatic cinema featuring Disney's Moana 2. The free community event thrilled attendees with waterslides, a foam cannon party, and complimentary popcorn. "It's one of many ways we try to provide safe, fun and positive experiences for all," said EPAR Coordinator Casey Wooddell. Looking ahead, the department will host two Sensory Swim Days in July and August for individuals with sensory sensitivities.
🏭 Washington investor snaps up Miamisburg industrial site for $14.5 million. Rood Investments, a family office from Vancouver, Washington, has purchased the 199,048-square-foot building on Byers Road, marking its first property acquisition in Ohio. The building, which previously sold for $10.8 million in 2021, has housed businesses including Cornerstone Research Group and Advantic. Miamisburg's economic development director confirmed the city was aware of the sale but hasn't yet heard from the new owners. Rood's diverse real estate portfolio spans multiple sectors including multifamily, hospitality, industrial, and retail properties across the country.
🎓 Miami University ranks among nation's best value colleges.
