🚒 Campus flames & fame

Preble County • March 12, 2025

Good morning, Preble County. A flash of emergency lights lit up the night sky Monday as firefighters rushed to contain a small blaze at Cohen Recycling plant. The quick response before 9:30 p.m. meant no injuries were reported, though the cause remains under investigation. In a more somber development, authorities discovered a deceased male in a tent near Miamisburg Lowe's, with Miami Township police noting the death doesn't appear suspicious—a stark reminder of the housing challenges facing our vulnerable neighbors.

Looking ahead to brighter days, Miami University alumni are making their triumphant return to campus next spring. Duke Energy CEO Lynn Good and Merck CEO Rob Davis will headline the inaugural Leadership in Technology Speaker Series in March 2025, sharing insights on their remarkable journeys and AI's transformative impact. Students attending the exclusive event will not only gain wisdom from these accomplished graduates but also score free Starbucks—proving education and caffeine remain perfect partners.
