Good morning, Powell. The aroma of Southern comfort food has wafted into Clintonville as Sadaya "Daisy" Lewis expands her soul food empire from Budd Dairy Hall to a brick-and-mortar location on North High Street. Modern Southern Table brings scratch-made fried chicken, fish, and those irresistible sides to the neighborhood Tuesday through Sunday, creating what Lewis beautifully describes as "a new age gathering around the table" — transforming her decade-long passion for cooking into a growing culinary destination.

As one chapter begins, another closes with the peaceful passing of Florence Farmwald at 96. The Plain City resident leaves behind a legacy of service through her work with Shiloh Mennonite Church and the Ohio Lung Association — not to mention what locals called "the best homemade bread in the county." Meanwhile, Columbus's pharmaceutical footprint grows as Hikma breaks ground on a massive 130,000-square-foot expansion to its west side complex, strengthening the region's manufacturing capabilities.
