🎨 Window wanderings

Good morning, Portage County. Downtown Hudson has transformed into a vibrant open-air gallery as local students splash storefronts with colorful window paintings along Main Street. These artistic displays aren't just beautifying the business district—they're creating a walking museum that celebrates young creativity while strengthening community connections. Who knew shopping could include an art tour?

Meanwhile, Akron residents can breathe easier knowing their tap water has passed federal standards with flying colors after summer's chemical concerns. City officials report the best water quality results in five years, with HAA5 levels now normal across all sampling sites. And for those contemplating ink, Cleveland has earned a dubious distinction as America's fourth most tattoo-regretful city, with hundreds of residents searching for removal options monthly—perhaps a cautionary tale for anyone considering that impulse tattoo this weekend.

💧 Akron water clears federal standards after summer chemical concerns. City officials report that Haloacetic Acids (HAA5) levels have returned to normal at all 12 water sampling locations, marking the best test results in at least five years. The improvement comes after approximately 6,600 customers were notified in July when two sites exceeded EPA limits for HAA5, byproducts that form when chlorine reacts with organic material. Officials attributed the earlier spike to environmental factors at Lake Rockwell, including high water temperatures and increased biological activity. Mayor Shammas Malik praised the Water Supply Bureau staff for their "extraordinary" work in optimizing the treatment process.

🎨 Cleveland's tattoo regret ranks fourth nationwide. A new study reveals Clevelanders search for tattoo removal or cover-up options at one of America's highest rates, with 360.89 searches per 100,000 residents. Orlando, Atlanta, and Salt Lake City claimed the top three spots in the analysis of 177 U.S. cities. Research suggests tattoo regret correlates with getting inked for fashion trends rather than self-expression, with amateur tattoos and younger first-timers showing significantly higher regret rates. The most common reason for tattoo remorse? Simply "not liking the tattoo anymore."
