Meanwhile, Labor Day took an unexpected turn for over 5,000 Summit County residents when power outages left homes in Hudson and Stow without electricity yesterday afternoon. As FirstEnergy crews work to restore service, Cleveland professionals are getting a different kind of power boost through Engage! The Pirates of the Colombian Caribbean Ariel High Wire Thrill Show dazzled fairgoers with aerial stunts performed 20 feet above a giant pirate ship. Featuring sword fights, mermaids, and death-defying acts on a skull and crossbones wheel, the family-friendly show brought non-stop action to Midway Stage 2. The Florida-based Murcia family, who tour nationwide with their performance, designed the show to appeal to all ages with imagination for kids and thrills for adults. Fairgoers of all ages expressed delight with the creative performances, with one 9-year-old attendee simply declaring it "really cool."

⚡ Labor Day power outage leaves over 5,000 Summit County residents in darkness. The majority of affected customers are in Hudson (1,223) and Stow (4,171) as reported at 1:30 p.m. FirstEnergy has dispatched crews to investigate the cause of the widespread outage. The utility company estimates power will be restored by 3 p.m. according to their latest update. Local news station WOIO has reached out to FirstEnergy for additional information but has not yet received a response.
