Good morning, Portage County. A somber discovery in neighboring Trumbull County has authorities working to identify human remains found Tuesday on Herner County Line Road. While a 911 caller suggested the remains might belong to a missing relative, the coroner has scheduled an autopsy for Friday as the investigation continues into both cause and manner of death.

Meanwhile, visitors to Cuyahoga Valley National Park might notice new billboards highlighting federal staff reductions as summer travel season approaches. Park officials assure that most trails and facilities remain accessible despite the changes. Closer to home, East Cleveland's suspended mayor Brandon King heads to trial next week facing serious corruption charges including allegations he directed over $75,000 in city funds to companies connected to himself or family members – a case he maintains is politically motivated.

🏞️ Billboards expose staff cuts at Ohio's only national park. Progressive group More Perfect Union has placed about 70 billboards near Cuyahoga Valley National Park highlighting federal staff reductions made by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The cuts, which include positions like biologists and maintenance workers, come just before peak summer travel season. Park spokesperson Jennie Vasarhelyi maintains that most trails and facilities will remain open as normal, though two of the park's 28 public restrooms are closed. The billboards appear in several states and aim to spark conversation about preserving equal access to national parks.
