The Portage County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will host expert Roslyn Torella on April 5, 2025, at the Portage County Historical Society in Ravenna. 🌪️ Twinsburg opted out of statewide tornado drill yesterday. The city wants residents to understand its Outdoor Warning Siren System, which consisted of nine strategically placed sirens designed primarily for outdoor alerts. Officials emphasized these sirens shouldn't be relied upon indoors or in noisy areas, as weather conditions can prevent them from being heard. Twinsburg activates sirens when the National Weather Service issues tornado warnings, when local officials report a tornado, or during dangerous situations requiring immediate shelter. Residents are encouraged to sign up for local alerts through Alert Sense and have multiple ways to receive severe weather information.

🍎 Akron Children's Hospital fights hunger with new food pantry in Boardman. The "Food Farmacy" will provide eligible patient families with a 3-5 day supply of food through monthly prescribed visits. Located in Building A of the Beeghly Campus, the pantry aims to support children with chronic health issues who face food insecurity. Stocked in partnership with Second Harvest Foodbank, it will operate three days weekly from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for March 24 at 11 a.m.
