🍝 Pasta la vista

Portage County • January 24, 2025

Good morning, Portage County. The aroma of authentic Italian cuisine will soon be wafting through downtown Akron as dba's final dishes make way for Luciano's Cucina Italiano. While owner Joe Testa is quick to distance his venture from any notorious namesakes, the promise of Mediterranean elegance arriving just in time for Valentine's Day has local foodies marking their calendars.

Meanwhile, Sharon's firefighters are writing their own record-breaking story, with nearly 800 emergency responses painting a picture of dedication that goes far beyond the call of duty. As their new medic unit faces cyber-related delays and Cuyahoga Falls Council charts its course for 2024, it's clear that whether in the kitchen or on the frontlines, our community's professionals are cooking up positive changes for the year ahead.
