Pike County • September 26, 2025
Good morning, Pike County. When your tail lights go out, it's usually just a minor inconvenience—unless you're Rocky Conley Sr., whose non-functioning lights led to a half-mile police pursuit ending in multiple charges including an outstanding warrant. It was just one chapter in what appears to be a busy season for local law enforcement, with Chillicothe police tackling everything from drug possession cases to shoplifting incidents and active fights across the city in a single September day.
As autumn settles in, history takes center stage at the Otway Covered Bridge Festival this weekend. The 150-year-old structure—Scioto County's last remaining covered bridge—will transform into a community gathering space complete with car shows, live music, and local food vendors. The September 27 event not only celebrates our region's heritage but raises vital funds to preserve this architectural treasure restored in 2014.
