Pike County • August 20, 2025
Good morning, Pike County. The corridors of Ohio University Chillicothe have witnessed three decades of nursing excellence, with over 500 healthcare professionals beginning their journeys there since 1995. As the program prepares to celebrate this milestone on October 4, 2025, alumni are invited to reconnect with the institution that shaped their careers through campus tours, presentations, and a special dinner that honors both past achievements and future possibilities.
While we celebrate recent history, Gary Argabright invites us to journey much further backβto when massive mammoths and mastodons roamed our region alongside early human inhabitants. His August 30 presentation at the Ross County Heritage Center offers a fascinating glimpse into our Ice Age past. In more current affairs, Chillicothe police recently recovered significant amounts of cocaine and fentanyl during a residential raid, continuing efforts to address substance issues while offering support resources for those battling addiction.
