The program, operated by iCan Shine, provided personalized instruction and one-on-one support from trained swim buddies at no cost to families. "Children with certain disabilities face a higher risk of drowning," explained Amy Beeler, Pioneer Center Superintendent, highlighting that the camp builds confidence, strength, and potentially life-saving swimming skills. Participants received take-home water safety supplies including flotation noodles and life jackets.
