Pike County • July 7, 2025
Good morning, Pike County. Summer 2024 has officially become construction season across our area, with a maze of orange barrels transforming daily commutes into navigation challenges. Starting June 24, State Route 220 will close for a full month between SR-552 and Pleasant Hill Road, while County Road 9 follows with a two-month shutdown beginning July 15. These closures are part of a larger infrastructure overhaul that won't wrap up until 2025.
The good news? Transportation officials have mapped out detailed detour routes utilizing U.S. 23, S.R. 104, and S.R. 552 to keep traffic flowing. During the U.S. 23 resurfacing between Manufacturing Center Road and the Scioto County line, at least one lane will remain openβsmall comfort during the summer travel season. Remember to pack your patience alongside your sunscreen this season, and please heed those reduced speed warnings in work zones.
