From leading the Wellston High marching band to touching hearts through her singing ministry, she painted her world with vibrant strokes of creativity and kindness until her final days at 56. Her voice may have gone quiet, but the melody of her impact plays on.

Mary Ann Scurlock, 56, passed away in Hamden after a brief battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of service and artistic talent. A 25-year veteran at Tigerpoly Manufacturing, she was known for her beautiful singing ministry and creative pursuits including painting and cooking. The 1986 Wellston High School graduate, who once led the marching band as field commander, is survived by her mother Mona Lee and sister Linda Lee. Funeral services will be held Thursday at McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.
