Good morning, Pickaway County. The soulful notes of Columbus' thriving jazz scene are hitting all the right keys as ten talented titans keep this rich musical tradition alive. From Bobby Floyd's masterful piano work to Mary McClendon's captivating vocals, these artists transform venues like Natalie's and the Ginger Rabbit Jazz Lounge into vibrant cultural hubs almost every evening. Among these standouts is James Gaiters, whose journey from improvising on his mother's pots and pans to performing at prestigious festivals showcases the unexpected paths musical passion can take.

On a more somber note, east Columbus experienced tragedy Monday when a fatal motorcycle collision claimed a life near the 1800 block of East Livingston Avenue. The accident, which occurred just before noon, has prompted authorities to close the road in both directions between Rhoads Avenue and South Nelson Road as their investigation continues. Our thoughts are with those affected by this unfortunate incident.
