Pickaway County • May 20, 2025
Good morning, Pickaway County. As Memorial Day approaches, Columbus pools are preparing to welcome summer splashers with $1 admission and electronic-only payments. All city pools will be operational by June 7, offering a refreshing retreat where "families connect," according to Recreation Director Bernita Reese. These community oases will operate from 1-7 p.m. weekdays and noon-6 p.m. weekends, providing affordable relief during the summer heat.
Meanwhile, two distinctive developments are reshaping our region's social landscape. Delaware's hospitality scene gets a boost as Leisure Club breaks from tradition with a new public-access cocktail lounge—a shift from their usual members-only approach. On the recognition front, the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame is seeking nominations for its 2025 class before the June 1 deadline, honoring former service members who continue making exceptional contributions through volunteerism, advocacy, or public service.
