Pickaway County • March 28, 2025
Good morning, Pickaway County. From traffic accidents to trespassing reports, Circleville police had their hands full Wednesday tackling a diverse array of public safety concerns across the city. The department's daily log reads like a screenplay of small-town challenges—complete with suspicious persons investigations, well-being checks, and even animal complaints—showcasing the remarkably varied responsibilities our local officers shoulder within a single 24-hour shift.
While police were managing their busy day, a different kind of emergency was unfolding at Circleville Middle School, where a stomach virus outbreak has forced a two-day closure. On a happier note, local animal lovers are preparing for the 13th Annual Partners for Paws fundraiser on April 5th, an event that continues transforming the fate of shelter dogs from grim statistics to heartwarming adoption stories—proof that sometimes the most meaningful community changes happen one wagging tail at a time.

🚓 Circleville police tackled everything from theft to traffic accidents Wednesday. Officers responded to multiple theft reports, suspicious persons, and trespassing incidents across the city on March 26, 2025. Traffic-related calls included several stops, a non-injury accident resulting in citation, and an injury accident on N. Court Street. Public safety efforts involved well-being checks with one person transported to hospital, homeless assistance, and multiple alarm responses. The department also assisted with fire calls and animal complaints throughout their busy day.
🤢 Stomach virus shuts down Circleville Middle School for two days. Superintendent Kimberly Halle announced the closure for Thursday and Friday following numerous absences linked to the highly contagious illness. The decision aims to contain the spread of the virus, which remains contagious for 48 hours, with all evening activities at CMS also canceled. Circleville High School and Elementary School will continue operating normally while families are urged to keep children home if they show symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, fever, or body chills.
🐾 Dog lovers unite to save furry friends at annual fundraiser. Partners for Paws will host their 13th Annual Fundraiser on April 5 at AMVETS in Circleville to support the Wright Poling Pickaway County Dog Shelter. The $25 advance ticket ($30 at door) event features wine, food, auctions, and raffles for a fun adult evening. The organization has dramatically improved adoption rates from the days when 90% of strays were euthanized, and now provides 100% coverage for spay/neuter procedures for all adopted dogs. Funds raised help provide medicine and supplies to prepare shelter dogs for their forever homes.
