Good morning, Muskingum County. A moment of distraction can change everything in an instant, as demonstrated by last Saturday's motorcycle collision in a Walmart parking lot. The crash sent 25-year-old Laryssa Cain airborne before she was ultimately airlifted to Ohio State University Medical Center, a sobering reminder of how quickly ordinary errands can turn extraordinary. Meanwhile, local drivers looking for vehicle maintenance will soon have a speedier option as Take 5 Oil Change prepares to cut the ribbon on its new Mount Vernon location, promising oil changes in just 10 minutes.

Nature enthusiasts have something wild to celebrate as two bobcat brothers, Canyon and Forest, find their forever home at Paws and Claws Animal Encounters in Bremen. The sanctuary, founded by Ohio University Lancaster graduate Sara McClaskey, offers interactive experiences with exotic animals including the crowd-favorite otter swimming sessions. McClaskey's journey from communication studies to wildlife conservation demonstrates how following your passion can create meaningful second acts – and educational opportunities for an entire community.
