Good morning, Muskingum County. August has arrived with a flurry of community activities that promise to transform our region into a hub of summer excitement. From Schumaker Farms' sweet corn festival offering $5 family fun to Zanesville's outdoor movie night featuring "Moana 2" at Restoration Park, the calendar is packed with opportunities to create lasting memories before school bells ring again. Meanwhile, mark your detour maps accordingly—Jackson Road closes August 4-8 for railroad repairs, while Dresden Road paving begins mid-month.

Behind these festivities lies the generous spirit that defines our communities. The Guernsey County Foundation is accepting nonprofit grant applications until September 9, while Christopher Caples Memorial Scholarships are helping eight promising 2025 graduates pursue higher education. Even Locality Clothing's August 7 reopening celebration showcases our region's pride in local identity. As summer's warmth continues, our communities are demonstrating that the season of giving extends well beyond December.
