Good morning, Muskingum County. After years of dormancy, a powerful voice for justice has returned to our community. The local NAACP chapter has officially sprung back to life with Kyle Johnson at the helm and a fresh team of officers who were sworn in last month. Their revival began with a "Brunch for Justice" that successfully recruited the 50 members needed to reactivate the historic organization, building upon the foundation laid by previous community leaders.

Meanwhile, fairy tales and future celebrations are taking shape across our region. Young performers are preparing to bring "Snow White" to life at Perry County's Calvary Arts Center on June 27, while Ohio's scouts are looking ahead to 2026's "Heart of it All Jamboree" at Salt Fork State Park. The conservation-themed event will coincide with America's 250th birthday, inspiring the next generation to protect our natural treasures while honoring conservation heroes from Johnny Appleseed to Jack Hanna.

✊ Muskingum County's NAACP branch roars back to life with new leadership. The local chapter, which had become inactive due to declining membership, was officially reactivated on May 17 after recruiting the required 50 members. Kyle Johnson was elected president, leading a team of six other officers who were sworn in by a state NAACP official. The revival began with a "Brunch for Justice" in March organized by a 12-member planning committee to share information and recruit new members. Johnson acknowledged the chapter's legacy, paying respect to previous leaders who "built the foundation we now stand on."
