Good morning, Muskingum County. Mother Nature made a dramatic midnight appearance in Crooksville this week, as sudden flooding forced emergency water rescues from homes and vehicles. The Roseville Volunteer Fire Department sprang into action, helping residents on Keystone and China Streets escape rising waters that thankfully receded as quickly as they came. Fire Chief Derrick Keylor's advice to stay weather-aware serves as a timely reminder of how quickly our Ohio summers can turn from peaceful to perilous.

On a brighter note, a six-decade tradition continues as Crooksville and Roseville prepare to celebrate their 60th Pottery Festival July 10-12. This milestone event honors the ceramic industry that shaped our region's identity and economic foundation. Meanwhile, outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate columnist Doug Clifford's fishing tales from Lake St. Clair, complete with bad weather and an unexpected encounter with law enforcement—proving that sometimes the most memorable adventures don't go according to plan.
