Good morning, Muskingum County. The great outdoors is calling with a new answer to the age-old question of where to stay while exploring nature. The Wilds' new Hellbender RV Campground opens May 30, offering 47 full-service RV sites and 26 primitive camping spots across 75 acres of reclaimed mining land. Named after North America's largest amphibian, this conservation-minded retreat sits among the 10,000-acre wildlife paradise where rhinos, giraffes, and other endangered species roam, promising to attract some 35,000 visitors annually.

Meanwhile, opportunity knocks throughout Guernsey County this week. Local nonprofits have until May 30 to apply for Columbus Foundation grants supporting cultural and economic development initiatives. Buckeye Trail alumni can rock out to '70s and '80s tunes at their May 31 reunion, while community leadership continues with several important meetings including Guernsey County Children Services Board on May 5 and East Muskingum Local School Board on May 8.
