Good morning, Muskingum County. The roar of engines will echo through Dresden once again as Muskingum County Speedway prepares to reopen its gates on April 26. The "Essential Ohio Energy Opening Night" stands as more than just the season kickoff—it's a heartfelt tribute to Ronnie Moran, the late owner whose passion for racing and the oil industry left an indelible mark on our community before his passing last year. His legacy continues through son Donnie and grandson Tristin, who now carry the family's racing tradition forward.

While the speedway revs up for its emotional return, local drivers face a different kind of track challenge with multiple road closures across the county. Licking Road shuts down Monday for bridge work, while several other thoroughfares face temporary closures throughout the week. Amid these infrastructure updates, community spirit remains strong with Earth Week recycling campaigns, Kiwanis trivia nights, and blood drives offering plenty of ways to connect with neighbors despite the detours.
