Good morning, Marion County. A decade of musical excellence deserves celebration! The Worthington Chamber Orchestra marks ten years of enriching our local arts scene with diverse programming that spans traditional masterworks to newly commissioned pieces. Founded by Antoine Clark in 2013, the ensemble has become a cultural cornerstone through its various concert series, including the popular Summer Music in Nature events that bring classical sounds to outdoor settings.
The holiday season brings even more musical magic to Marion as the Central Ohio Symphony prepares for its debut performance at the historic Palace Theatre next December. Meanwhile, a different kind of discovery is happening for OSU Marion student Morgan Margraf, whose STEP-funded journey to Texas revealed her true calling isn't veterinary medicine but animal care. Sometimes finding your path means ruling out what doesn't fit – especially when it involves snakes!

🦁 Ohio student discovers her true calling through zoo experience. Morgan Margraf, a junior zoology major at Ohio State Marion, traveled to Texas for a pre-veterinary program to clarify her career path. During her week-long journey funded by the university's Second-Year Transformational Experience Program (STEP), she gained hands-on experience with wildlife and veterinary practices. Though Margraf has loved animals her entire life—particularly snakes—she realized veterinary medicine wasn't her calling, preferring animal care instead. "STEP has helped me realize gaining that experience is what's going to help me reach goals," she reflected as she pursues her zoology degree.
