Good morning, Marion County. A retail revolution is coming to Polaris Fashion Place next month as Dick's House of Sport transforms the traditional shopping experience. Unlike conventional stores where you buy first and regret later, this innovative concept lets customers test equipment before purchase—think of it as the "try before you buy" approach that we've all wished for when eyeing that expensive tennis racket or golf club.
In bittersweet contrast to new beginnings, the community mourns the loss of 30-year-old Travon Wilford following a tragic pedestrian accident on Polaris Parkway Wednesday night. Meanwhile, the Ohio State Fair continues its deliciously quirky tradition with this year's butter sculptures featuring construction workers alongside the iconic cow and calf. Created by a team including Ohio State student Gabriela Schmidt, these dairy masterpieces required 2,200 pounds of butter and 350 hours of careful crafting in a chilly 46-degree cooler.

🧈 Ohio's iconic butter cow tradition is a sculpting marvel. For over a century, the Ohio State Fair has featured life-sized butter sculptures, with this year's display showcasing construction workers alongside the traditional cow and calf. Ohio State student Gabriela Schmidt joined a team of sculptors who spent 350 hours crafting the display using more than 2,200 pounds of butter in a 46-degree cooler. The intricate process involves layering soft butter onto metal frameworks before sculpting it like clay, with the finished creations being recycled into non-edible products after the fair. Schmidt calls it an incredible opportunity, noting that several of the butter sculptors are Ohio State art program graduates.
