Good morning, Marion County. Mark your calendars! The countdown has begun to Ohio's grandest summer tradition as the State Fair prepares to transform Columbus fairgrounds into a wonderland of rides, music, and fried delicacies from July 23 to August 3. With performances from Foreigner to T-Pain and special events like Sensory-Friendly Morning, this 175-year tradition promises something for everyone—whether you're showcasing 4-H projects or simply hunting for the perfect funnel cake.

The spirit of giving shines through locally as businesswoman Cheryl Culver establishes a meaningful scholarship at Marion Technical College, turning her "eclectic career" journey into opportunity for future business students. Her initiative removes barriers she once faced herself, while honoring her parents' legacy and connecting to family ties at the college. Meanwhile, Dublin authorities continue investigating after a motorcyclist lost control on I-270 early Saturday, resulting in hospitalization and temporary highway closure between Route 33 and Sawmill Road.

🎓 Local businesswoman creates scholarship to honor her parents' legacy. Cheryl Culver established a fund at Marion Technical College to support second-year business students from Marion or Wyandot counties. The scholarship aims to remove financial barriers that Culver herself faced when pursuing higher education. After growing up on a farm, Culver built an "eclectic career" spanning the FBI, legal departments, and university administration. The initiative has special meaning as Culver's niece, Christy, is Marion Tech's longest-tenured faculty member with 36 years of teaching experience.
