Good morning, Marion County. Time has a way of preserving our most precious moments in amber, and nowhere is this more evident than in The Marion Star's nostalgic photo collection of Pleasant High School graduations. These visual time capsules from 2005-2012 capture everything from starry sunglasses to proud smiles, freezing in time that pivotal moment when hundreds of young adults stepped forward into their futures under the open sky of the school's football stadium.
As we honor youth's promise, we also remember sacrifice. Marion's upcoming Law Enforcement Memorial on May 21 will pay solemn tribute to five officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our community. From Patrolman Jerome Hostetter in 1910 to Deputy Brandy Lyn Winfield in 2004, these ceremonies at Marion Cemetery, featuring keynote speaker Judge Todd Anderson, remind us of the profound courage that keeps our community safe through generations.
