Good morning, Marion County. Columbus is quietly cementing its status as a tech powerhouse with the announcement of "Software Alley," a $4 million investment transforming downtown office space into a hub for university spinouts and early-stage companies. This collaboration between Rev1 Ventures and Ohio State University represents another building block in the city's emerging reputation as a technology hotspot, offering dedicated space where innovation can flourish beyond university walls.

While tech shapes our city's skyline, the arts continue to nourish our souls. Born from pandemic isolation, the jazz collective Gault has evolved from a creative lifeline to a thriving musical partnership with their new album "If the Heavens Came Down." And for families seeking summer entertainment, the Columbus Metropolitan Library and Gateway Film Center are celebrating their 15th year of bringing books to life through free films—from "The Wizard of Oz" to "Matilda"—offering literary adventures on the big screen all summer long.

🎷 Pandemic-born jazz collective Gault finds connection through chaos. Emerging from COVID isolation, keyboardist Caleb Miller assembled a dream team of musicians to form Gault, releasing their debut "Mirth" in 2023. Their new album "If the Heavens Came Down" moves beyond pandemic themes, featuring contributions from all band members, including drummer Seth Daly's deeply personal tracks about family. The eclectic collection alternates between composed atmospheric pieces and improvisational instrumentals, reflecting the group's intentional musical partnership. Miller values this collaborative dynamic, noting how it "makes me feel bigger" when working with such self-assured musicians.
