Good morning, Marion County. In a striking transformation that mirrors her own personal journey, local collage artist Emily Morgan has evolved from creating light, floral pieces to crafting darker, introspective works in her new exhibit "Decomposition: Dusk Effect." Her artistic metamorphosis offers a visual narrative of healing and self-discovery that many of us can relate to, especially as we navigate our own life transitions.

Meanwhile, the future of agriculture looks bright as Logan Elm senior Keegan Deihl formally committed to Ohio State University's agriscience education program during the 97th Annual Ohio FFA Convention. And as we celebrate new beginnings, we also honor endings—the community recently said goodbye to Betty Ferguson, whose 95 years of service as a funeral director, teacher, church elder, and devoted family member left an indelible mark on Plain City and beyond.

☕️ What's Brewing Locally

✂️ Collage artist Emily Morgan transforms darkness into visual storytelling. Morgan's new exhibit "Decomposition: Dusk Effect" chronicles her artistic evolution from light, floral pieces on white paper to darker, introspective works on black backgrounds. This shift parallels personal changes including relocation, therapy, and a journey of self-discovery after past dependencies. Unlike her structured day job as an analytics manager, Morgan's artistic process is intuitive—she never knows what a piece will look like when she starts cutting. Through the Columbus Collage Collective she co-founded, Morgan continues exploring this art form that has become both creative outlet and healing practice.
