Marion County • April 9, 2025
Good morning, Marion County. Nearly 2,400 neighbors have already been helped through Pack-A-Sack food distributions this year, and the initiative continues strong with its third event this Friday. The collaboration between The Salvation Army and OhioHealth showcases what Jim Parobek from Marion General Hospital aptly calls "the power of collaboration" – something our community has always excelled at. Those interested should register at 740-382-2156, with distribution beginning at 10 a.m. at the Church Street location.
Meanwhile, a piece of Marion history is looking toward its future. The Women's Club, a fixture in our community since 1895, is offering $500 for a fresh logo design that captures both its 130-year legacy and contemporary mission. Recognizable by its distinctive "big white house with a circular front porch" on East Center Street, the organization invites designers 18 and older to submit their creative visions by May 31 – a chance to leave your artistic mark on Marion's heritage.
