Good morning, Marion County. Technical skills are taking center stage as Buckeye Career Center students showcase their talents on the state level. Khalen Green's second-place finish in Power Equipment Technology headlines an impressive showing at the Ohio SkillsUSA Championships, where four other BCC students claimed third-place honors in specialized fields. These achievements represent the future workforce developing right in our backyard—young professionals honing abilities that will power our community for decades to come.
Meanwhile, athletic excellence continues to flourish locally as Marysville's Allison Price and North Union's Kennedy Harrah earn All-Ohio basketball recognition. And over at the Columbus Zoo, a remarkable baby boom is underway in the penguin habitat, where three chicks have hatched within just four weeks. Before their public debut, these tiny tuxedoed residents will attend "penguin preschool"—perhaps the most adorable educational program in the entire state.

🐧 Columbus Zoo's penguin family keeps growing with third chick. The newest addition, born March 13 to parents Malia and Bruce Banner, joins two other chicks hatched in February. Before meeting the public, all three babies will attend "penguin preschool" to build strength and learn colony skills like diving. The earlier chicks are offspring of colorfully-named penguin couples including Big Bertha "BB" Cobblepot and Dr. Oswald Cobblepot.
