Good morning, Jackson County. Bibliophiles, mark your calendars! Pike County's one-day book bonanza on October 1st promises literary treasures at bargain prices, with all proceeds supporting community initiatives. It's a perfect opportunity to refresh your reading collection while the changing season invites us to curl up with a good book – and your donations of gently used volumes are welcome through September 30th.

Meanwhile, tradition continues to thrive across our region. The Meigs County Fair just wrapped up its 162nd celebration of agricultural heritage, crowning new champions like Lyla Beasley and MaKenna Rankin, while Ohio University is investing in community harmony through free mediation training this fall. These conflict resolution skills, taught by Athens Area Mediation Service, offer valuable tools for navigating disagreements – something we could all use a little more of these days.
