Good morning, Jackson County. The future of our region is shining brightly through the achievements of its rising stars. WOUB Public Media has recognized exceptional student talent with prestigious awards to Ella Hughes and Parker Kopronica, providing not just recognition but meaningful financial support for these journalism standouts who are already making their mark in media production. Their dedication mirrors the impressive performance we're seeing in local athletics.
Speaking of exceptional performance, Piketon Lady Redstreaks' dominant 12-1 conference record has earned them top honors in SVC softball, with sophomore Aubrey Heath capturing "Player of the Year." Meanwhile, hometown success continues as Pike County native Andrew Bauer prepares to lead Adena Pike Medical Center's expansion. The Western High School graduate's September appointment promises to build on Dave Zanni's decade of transformative leadership that has turned the facility into a crucial healthcare hub offering nearly 20 specialty services throughout our region.
