Good morning, Jackson County. The quiet impact of a dedicated educator can echo for generations. Shevawn Lee McLin leaves behind a powerful legacy after devoting her career to special education in Wellston, where she spoke her truth with the same confidence she instilled in her students. Her passing reminds us that the most meaningful work often happens in classrooms where patience and persistence transform lives daily—qualities that ripple through communities long after the final bell rings.
Meanwhile, fresh leadership arrives at Jackson County Job and Family Services as Tracy Hughes steps into her new role as Assistant Director, bringing nearly two decades of experience to the vital programs supporting our neighbors in need. Her appointment comes as the Wellston School Board prepares for a closed-door meeting on March 31 to discuss personnel matters—a reminder that behind every public service are the careful deliberations that shape our community's future.
