Jackson County • March 10, 2025
Good morning, Jackson County. The halls of Ohio University are shining a little brighter thanks to some local academic stars. With Audrey Skeen of Ripley achieving perfect 4.0 status on the President's List and eleven more county residents earning Dean's List honors, our community is demonstrating that excellence doesn't stop at county lines. These students join over 10,000 undergraduates recognized for their scholarly achievements this fall—proof that determination still pays dividends in today's challenging academic landscape.
Meanwhile, the Jackson County Public Library continues to redefine what community service looks like. Beyond books and research materials, they've now stepped up as a UPS package drop-off location after Advance Auto Parts discontinued the service. This addition to their already impressive roster of offerings—from passport processing to notary services—shows how our local institutions are adapting to meet practical needs. In an age of digital convenience, sometimes the most valuable services still happen face-to-face.

📦 Ravenswood library now serves as local UPS drop-off point. The Jackson County Public Library stepped in to fill a community need after Advance Auto Parts discontinued its package service. Residents can now bring pre-labeled UPS packages to library staff during regular business hours. If packages don't have labels, printing services are available on-site.
