☕ Tea and Togetherness

Jackson County • February 19, 2025

Good morning, Jackson County. In an age where social media often substitutes for real connection, there's something beautifully nostalgic about ladies gathering for tea and prayer in Wellston. This Wednesday's Ladies Prayer Tea at Jenkins Care Community harkens back to a time when community wasn't just a hashtag, but a gathering of familiar faces around a warm cup of fellowship.

Speaking of cherished traditions, our community bids farewell to Shirley Starkey, whose 89 years of vitality included everything from leading the Wellston High marching band to delivering mail and dancing with the Wellston Wranglers. While the grand jury proceedings remind us that every community faces its challenges, it's the spirit of people like Shirley - working multiple jobs until age 87 and never losing her zest for life - that truly defines Jackson County's character.
