🏫 Schooling in transition

Jackson County • January 15, 2025

Good morning, Jackson County. They say change is the only constant, and our community's educational landscape is about to prove that point. As Wood County's Board of Education unveils plans tonight for a transformative school merger in north Parkersburg, we're witnessing history in the making - not just new buildings, but the reshaping of educational boundaries that will impact generations to come.

And speaking of historic moments, while snow blankets our region, Charleston's streets just witnessed their own piece of history as Patrick Morrisey took the oath as West Virginia's 37th governor. The winter weather couldn't dampen the spirits of the WVU Mountaineer Band or the parade participants who turned out to celebrate. Meanwhile, our local venues are heating things up with everything from ghost hunting to Irish dance performances, proving that even January's chill can't keep the Mid-Ohio Valley's cultural scene from sizzling.
