😢 Parents released after serving time for disabled son's neglect death. William and Bobbi Jo McFarland of Rockbridge have been resentenced and will be released from prison following their conviction in the death of their medically disabled adult son, Joshua. Initially sentenced to five years for failing to provide care, the couple successfully appealed when a court found their consecutive sentences weren't properly justified. Joshua, who had cerebral palsy, was severely malnourished with bedsores at the time of his death and hadn't seen a physician in years. Judge Goldsberry adopted the prosecutor's recommendation to run their prison terms concurrently, meaning they had already served sufficient time.
