Good morning, Hocking County. The historic Hocking River is about to get a whole lot lazier this summer. Hocking Hills Canoe Livery has unveiled their new River Recliner Tubes, designed for those who prefer their outdoor adventures with a side of supreme comfort. Whether you're floating in luxury or paddling with purpose in one of their canoes or kayaks, the veteran-owned livery has been helping visitors make a splash since 1996.

Meanwhile, cultural currents are flowing into the area as Bangkok's Moradokmai Theatre brings traditional Thai classical dance to Ohio University Lancaster on April 17. And on the compassionate front, BARC and the Southeast Ohio Food Bank have launched a heartwarming initiative ensuring both pets and their humans don't go hungry in our region. After all, as BARC's director eloquently put it, no one should have to choose between feeding themselves or their four-legged family members.

🌏 Thai dancers to dazzle Ohio with rare cultural showcase. The Moradokmai Theatre from Bangkok will visit Ohio University Lancaster on April 17, offering a public workshop on traditional Thai classical dance. Participants will learn intricate gestures and storytelling techniques from talented students before enjoying a performance featuring various dance styles with live music. This cultural exchange continues a partnership between the theatre and OHIO's Thai Study Abroad program, where students exchange dance lessons for English conversation practice. The event represents the theatre's mission to preserve Thailand's cultural heritage while providing a platform for young artists.

🐾 Southeast Ohio program fights hunger for pets and their humans. BARC and the Southeast Ohio Food Bank launched an initiative to tackle food insecurity affecting both pets and owners in a region where nearly 17% live in poverty. The program distributes donated pet food from PetSmart and Feeding America, helping prevent animal surrenders due to financial hardship. "I don't think any displacement between a human and a pet should occur because of inability to feed oneself and your companion," said BARC's executive director Melanie Yoder. Organizers are seeking community donations to sustain the entirely donation-funded program and keep pets in their forever homes.
