Good morning, Hamilton County. In the race against the clock, innovation thrives. The University of Cincinnati's 1819 Innovation Hub has become a Midwest epicenter for hackathons—those intense, deadline-driven competitions where teams create working prototypes to solve real-world challenges. From the Future of Data Hackathon to the NASA Space Apps Challenge, these events welcome both coding experts and newcomers alike, offering valuable opportunities to develop skills, build professional relationships, and potentially catch an employer's eye.

While creativity flourishes in one corner of our community, a disturbing case has emerged from Elmwood Place, where a couple faces felony charges after police discovered three severely malnourished children. On a lighter note, Swifties should mark their calendars—"The Official Release Party of a Showgirl" is coming to Cincinnati theaters October 3-5, offering fans an 89-minute celebration of Taylor Swift's upcoming 12th studio album, complete with music video premieres and behind-the-scenes footage.
