🛍️ Locally luxurious

Good morning, Geauga County. There's a retail revolution happening at Legacy Village that proves Ohio-made doesn't mean small-time. The newly opened Locally Spruced collaborative space has transformed how local artisans reach customers, bringing more than a dozen Ohio vendors into an upscale shopping center typically reserved for national brands. Founded by pet product entrepreneurs Randi Gilmore and Carl DeScott, this retail experiment is shattering the notion that local can't be luxurious.

In less celebratory news, local law enforcement has their hands full with vehicle-related incidents. Pepper Pike police are investigating a series of break-ins possibly connected to similar crimes in Orange Village, with a paper trail from an impounded Jeep potentially providing crucial leads. Meanwhile, a refreshingly honest—though decidedly impaired—Chagrin Falls driver admitted to officers he'd had "quite a bit" to drink before being stopped with a blood-alcohol level more than double the legal limit.

☕️ What's Brewing Locally

🏪 Small businesses find big-league home at Legacy Village's Locally Spruced. This collaborative retail space brings over a dozen Ohio-based vendors together in an upscale shopping center typically dominated by national brands. Founders Randi Gilmore and Carl DeScott, who operate their own pet product business Basil & Rex, carefully selected high-quality local vendors offering everything from clothing to home goods. Since opening on June 14, they've enhanced the shopping experience with pop-up events and a dedicated classroom space for workshops. Their mission is proving that "Ohio brands are high-end, quality and belong in places like Legacy Village."
