Good morning, Geauga County. Local authorities are embracing the digital age with Mentor Police's new "Citizen Connect" platform, which brings neighborhood police activity to residents' fingertips through an interactive map. This transparency initiative represents a growing trend of law enforcement agencies using technology to build stronger community relationships—showing exactly what's happening in your neighborhood while still respecting privacy by approximating incident locations.

In more somber news, authorities are investigating after a body was discovered Tuesday morning at Cleveland's Wildwood Marina, with few details currently available as the medical examiner works to identify the individual. Meanwhile, justice appears to be moving forward in Solon, where police have arrested a 47-year-old Novelty man accused in a hit-and-run that left a 74-year-old cyclist with serious injuries. The suspect now faces multiple charges after quick investigative work connected his damaged vehicle to the scene.

🚓 Mentor Police unveils digital "Citizen Connect" to boost transparency. The new website provides residents with an interactive map of local police incidents that can be filtered by time and type. For privacy reasons, incident locations are approximated rather than showing exact addresses. The department defines incidents as both calls for service and officer-initiated contacts, whether criminal or civil in nature. The initiative represents a significant step toward keeping the community better informed about police activities in their area.
