🚿 Spring spritzing

Geauga County • March 14, 2025

Good morning, Geauga County. As the calendar flips to April, our community springs into action with essential seasonal preparations. The Lake County YMCA is diving headfirst into lifeguard training at multiple branches, offering vital certification courses that not only ensure summer water safety but provide valuable employment opportunities for locals. Meanwhile, Willoughby residents should mark their calendars for April 1, when the six-week fire hydrant flushing program begins—a crucial maintenance ritual that might temporarily turn your tap water rusty but keeps emergency systems ready when seconds count.

The warming weather also ushers in a feast of community gatherings across the county. From Huntsburg Grange's chili cook-off where your $5 sampler buys you a People's Choice vote, to the Burton Library Book Sale, and even the delightful pairing of "Beer and Hymns" featuring the Chardon Polka Band, our social calendar is bubbling over. These diverse events showcase the rich tapestry of connections that make spring in Geauga County something truly special.
