Gallia County • September 15, 2025
Good morning, Gallia County. Infrastructure investments are shaping our community's future as the County Commission greenlights critical funding for both roadway repairs and airport improvements. The Burkhart Lane project is already underway with nearly half a million dollars dedicated to essential repairs, while significant Federal Aviation Administration grants will enhance our local airfield—proving that even in rural Ohio, transportation connections remain a priority.
On the athletic fields, victory seems to be in the air this week. Ohio Valley Christian soccer maintained their perfect record with a high-scoring win over Belpre, while Gallia Academy's Blue Devils showed impressive resilience in their conference opener, rallying from behind to secure a 28-14 victory against Portsmouth. Max Canaday's 179 rushing yards led the charge as the team scored 21 unanswered points, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting season of local sports.
