Good morning, Gallia County. A manhunt is underway across our region as authorities search for 36-year-old Zach Arms following a violent break-in at Pomeroy. The fugitive investigation comes amid a wave of local legal proceedings, including Phillip Cazad's four-year sentence for cutting off his ankle monitor and Jacqueline Chinn's two-year prison term for a drug-related homicide case in Lawrence County.
Tragedy struck our community Saturday night when 35-year-old Jeremy Morehart lost his life on Ohio 850. The Gallipolis Post of the Highway Patrol reports his Honda Accord veered off the rural highway near Springfield Township, resulting in a rollover crash that ejected him from the vehicle. Officials noted Morehart wasn't wearing a safety belt at the time of the accident, a sobering reminder of how quickly life can change on our country roads.
