Good morning, Gallia County. Mark your calendars for September 7th—that's when Kitts Hill native Olivia Fosson will represent Ohio at the Miss America pageant, streaming live from Orlando. This hometown hero recently received a proclamation at the Lawrence County commission meeting, establishing August 12, 2025 as "Olivia Fosson Day" in recognition of her achievements and commitment to uplifting young Appalachian girls.

As we approach the solemn anniversary of 9/11, Point Pleasant will honor the 2,977 lives lost with a memorial ceremony at Riverfront Park tomorrow morning. Meanwhile, our regional transportation infrastructure continues evolving with the commission approving over $327,000 in FAA grants for significant improvements at the Gallia-Meigs Regional Airport. These expansion projects, along with the ongoing terminal building updates, reflect growing investment in our county's air travel capabilities.
