Gallia County • June 26, 2025
Good morning, Gallia County. Rainbow colors and tie-dyed shirts brightened the Lawrence County Fairgrounds as 50 young 4-H Cloverbuds experienced their special day of games and crafts. These kindergarten through second-grade future farmers may be too young to show animals at the upcoming fair, but they're already building connections within the 4-H community that will last well beyond the July 7-12 county fair festivities.
Meanwhile, the wheels of education keep turning as the Gallipolis School Board makes significant investments in both leadership and learning materials. With new administrators appointed on multi-year contracts and over $112,000 allocated for literature curriculum, students will return to enhanced educational environments this fall. Across town, fourteen surgical technology graduates received their pins at Buckeye Hills Career Center, marking the completion of their intensive 1,342-hour journey through lab work and clinical trainingβa testament to the professional pathways being forged right here in our community.

π Young 4-H members get their own special day of fun. About 50 children and family members participated in the 4-H Cloverbud Fun Day at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds. The event, designed for kindergarten through second-grade students too young to show animals at the fair, featured games, crafts, and a tie-dye workshop based on a rainbow theme. Organized by Morgan Klaiber and Kayla Suiter with help from committee members and teen leaders, the day gave Cloverbuds a chance to connect with other members and experience the 4-H community. The Lawrence County Fair will run from July 7-12 at the fairgrounds.
