Gallia County • June 16, 2025
Good morning, Gallia County. Infrastructure improvements are reshaping our community landscape as the County Commission moves forward with nearly $600,000 in funding for the Burkhart Lane Slip and Culvert Repair project. This investment, alongside the approval of a $127,964 contract with Gallia-Meigs Community Action Agency to administer county grants through 2027, reflects ongoing commitments to strengthen our regional foundation—quite literally from the ground up.
Meanwhile, cultural celebrations are crossing boundaries as the Mid-Ohio Valley Multicultural Festival finds a new home at Belpre's Civitan Park for its 2025 edition. The free three-day event will showcase diverse performances ranging from Celtic folk to West African drumming. And in sports, local pride continues to shine as Wahama's Elissa Hoffman delivered a stellar four scoreless innings in her final high school appearance before heading to her collegiate career as a West Virginia State commit.
